2.1 Perkembangan Pendidikan Pada Masa Awal Kemerdekaan

When You Decide To Change Yourself

Maybe you were a person that wasn’t very religious at all, and you were living life like the rest of your extended family. But something came in your heart and you said, ‘you know what, I’m gonna take this guidance seriously.’ I don’t know how it happened. Maybe Allah made it happen through some YouTube video or a friend or… However it happened, But you decided to make a change for better in your life. And when you start changing the behavior in your life, the first people to see a change in you will be your own family.

They will notice it! They will notice that you are not the same anymore. You don’t talk the same, you don’t act the same, you don’t go to the same place, you don’t even have the same friends anymore. And this necessarily happens. When you take a turn towards Islam necessarily you start losing friends because your old friends used to do pretty bad things, and now you can’t do those things with them anymore, so you suffer a loss of friends. And at the same time your family starts saying you are acting a little too weird. And for the young man the family might say, ‘what’s that thing on your face? You forgot to shave? What happened to you?’ And the girls starts wearing hijab and the family might even be in shock, and this is a Muslim family, mind you.

They’ll say, ‘take that thing off your head! You’re gonna go out to the wedding looking like that? I can’t sit in the car with you like that. What do you think we are? Who do you…all of a sudden you are the Islamic role model? Who died and made you sheikh? That all of a sudden we should be looking up to you. Remember what you were like last year, man. You were the party animal. Now you’re gonna go make Salaah? Yeah, seriously, please! We know what you’re really like.’

In other words, every chance they get they say something to you. And you’re in the middle of all of this and it becomes hard to hold on to your religion in the middle of all of this. It becomes hard. Because it’s not the enemy of Islam that’s pulling you away. Who’s pulling you away? You own family, your own parents, your own husband, your own wife, your own brother, your own cousins, your own in-laws, they are the ones pulling you away. So how do you deal with that? The most inappropriate response to this pressure is anger. And you know what, that is the most common response too. Your parents start yelling at you for growing you beard, and you’re a young hot blooded guy, and what do you do? ‘(You say) Oh yeah! It’s the Sunnah, you can’t tell me what to do, you’re following culture and I’m trying to follow Islam.’ And you slam the door in their face. Way to go! Because that’s what Allah wants you to do.

What was Ibrahim’s father talking about (alaihissalam). Was he talking something small or something big? ‘(He would say) Go make Sajda to Idols, boy.’ And does he loses his cool? – Does he get angry? We have to learn how to be with our parents, even when they are calling you away from deen. It doesn’t matter if they are Muslim or not.

Allah tells us, if they struggle against you, and make you follow what they themselves have no knowledge of, don’t obey them, while at the same time accompanying them in the most dignified fashion. Obeying them is separate, respecting them is separate. Just because you didn’t obey them for the sake of Allah when it came to matters of halal and haram, or when it came to matter of eeman and shirk or kufr, just because you didn’t obey them, does not give you the right to get angry at them, you can’t!

Biasakan anak bangun pagi untuk kualitas generasi

by : bendri jaisyurrahman (twitter : @ajobendri)

1| Perbaikan kualitas generasi selayaknya dimulai dgn kebiasaan bangun di pagi hari. Sebab generasi unggul bermula dari pagi yg masygul (sibuk)

2| Kebiasaan bangun pagi hendaklah dimulai dari usia dini. Peran Ayah amat dinanti. Ayah yg peduli tak abai dalam urusan bangun pagi buah hati

3| Jika anak terbiasa bangun siang. Maka keberkahan hidup melayang. Aktivitas ruhani menjadi jarang. Perilaku menjadi jalang

4| Mulailah dengan malam yang berkualitas. Anak tidak terjaga di ambang batas. Harus buat peraturan tegas. Kapan terjaga dan kapan pulas

5| Sehabis isya jangan ada aktivitas fisik berlebihan. Upayakan aktivitas yang menenangkan. Membaca atau bercerita yg berkesan

6| Biasakan berbagi perasaan. Mulai dengan cerita aktivitas harian. Evaluasi jika ada yang tidak berkenan. Sekaligus sarana pengajaran

7| Buat kesepakatan bangun jam berapa. Lantas anak mau dibangunkan bagaimana. Jadikan ini sebagai modal membangunkan di pagi harinya

8| Tutuplah aktivitas malam dengan dengarkan tilawah. Agar anak tidur membawa kalimat Allah Pemberi Rahmah. Terekam dalam memorinya sepanjang hayah

9| Pagi pun datang. Jalankan kesepakatan yang dibuat sebelum tidur menjelang. Bangunkan anak penuh kasih sayang. Bangunkan dengan cara yg ia bilang

10| Jika anak menolak tuk beranjak, ingatkan akan kesepakatan semalam. Anak siap terima konsekuensi tanpa diancam. Batasi kesenangan yg ia idam

11| Bangunkan anak dengan kalimat Ilahi. Agar paginya diberkahi. Jika perlu adzan di telinga kanan dan kiri. Bisikan dengan lembut tembus ke hati

12| Jika ia segera bangun, jangan lupa apresiasi. Hadiahi dengan doa dan kecupan di pipi. Tak lupa bertanya tentang mimpi. Anak butuh transisi

Bangun pagi selalu tertunda. Sholat shubuh di waktu dhuha. Banyak melamun tak ada guna

17| Jika terlanjur anak bangun kesiangan. Buatlah rencana bersama pasangan. Konsisten dan tidak saling menyalahkan. Fokus kepada upaya perbaikan

18| Sebelum terlambat, segera bertindak cepat. Agar masa depan anak selamat. Fokuslah kepada perbaikan pola tidur yg sehat

19| Jika anak terbiasa bangun pagi sedari dini, itu ciri anak berprestasi. Tak mudah dipengaruhi berbagai pergaulan yg tidak islami

20| So, tunggu apalagi. Jangan cuma bisa marah dan mencaci. Segera bertindak untuk buah hati. Fokuslah kepada bangun pagi. Selamat beraksi (bendri)

National Anthem of Indonesia – Indonesia Raya

Indonesia tanah airku. Tanah tumpah darahku.

Indonesia, my native land, the land where I shed my blood.

Disanalah aku berdiri, jadi pandu ibuku.

There, I stand, to be the guard of my motherland.

Indonesia kebangsaanku. bangsa dan tanah airku.

Indonesia my nationality, my nation and my homeland.

Marilah kita berseru : “Indonesia bersatu!”

Let us exclaim : “Indonesia unite!”

Long live my land, long live my state, my nation, my people, entirely.

Bangunlah jiwanya, bangunlah badannya.

Build it’s soul, build it’s body.

Untuk Indonesia Raya!

For Great Indonesia!

Indonesia Raya! Merdeka, merdeka!

Great Indonesia! Free, independent!

Tanahku, negeriku yang kucinta.

My land, my country which I love.

Punishment Necessary To Develop Self – Discipline In Students

Positive punishment is a concept used in B. F. Skinner’s theory of operant conditioning. The goal of punishment is to decrease the behavior that it follows. In the case of positive punishment, it involves presenting an unfavorable outcome or event following an undesirable behavior.

The concept of positive punishment can difficult to remember, especially because it seems like a contradiction. How can punishment be positive? The easiest way to remember this concept is to note that it involves an aversive stimulus that is added to the situation. For this reason, positive punishment is sometimes referred to as punishment by application. (Gershoff, E. T. 539-579)

For example, you wear your favorite baseball cap to class, but are reprimanded by your instructor for violating your school’s dress code. You’re late to work one morning, you drive over the speed limit through a school zone. As a result, you get pulled over by a police officer and receive a ticket. Your cell phone rings in the middle of a class lecture, and you are scolded by your teacher for not turning your phone off prior to class.

Can you identify the examples of positive punishment? The teacher reprimanding you for breaking the dress code, the officer issuing the speeding ticket and the teacher scolding you for not turning off your cell phone are all examples of positive punishment. They represent aversive stimuli that are meant to decrease the behavior that they follow. (Hockenbury, D., & Hockenbury, S. E.)

let it go final exam verse

the clock ticks by fast this time
not a moment to be lost

a sack of books around me
and it looks like its the day

finals are coming and we all must try our best
but I’ve given up I’ll just swing that test

no fun today, no fun at all
no more talking on the telephone

read this write that and learn it all
can’t learn at all

let it go, let it go
can’t study this anymore

let it go, let it go
all my classes are a bore

I dont care
If I fail my test

Let my mom rage on
my grades never bothered me anyway

Nostalgic Seduction

I brought your dreams to fly into the night sky
so you will know,
missing the light, is not common
let the moon light reflect and let the pen talk

look at the top,
I’ve made the most beautiful poems in the dark sky
in the hope,
being able to explore the dark heart

I say to the brightest star,
my night is a night that longing his presence,
here, I could not shorten the distance,
I miss the time you were around

The value of education

Nowadays, it seems to be universally accepted that increased education is a good thing. Thousands of colleges and millions of student spend their time and money for pieces of paper, and then we started to ask, “what is the value of these qualifications?”. Students in college are being sold an illusion. They believe that self-understanding and society approval will come come with the acquisition of a piece of paper. Instead of thinking for themselves, and finding their own personality and strengths, they are fitted like square pegs into round holes, in so-called professional jobs. This essay will discuss whether education has been devalued.

The role of education is to prepare masses of people operate at low levels of ability in a very limited and restricted range of activities. Supporters of education (usually teachers or educators, or those in the business of education) say that the higher your education is, the higher status symbol you will receive, as well as a passport to a private club of money and power. They also said increased level of education will open door for students.

However, the most important thing is not those with degrees, but people who stand back and look what is really important in life. These people are found in every part of society. Brilliant people like Einsten who was a weak math student. Successful businessmen, Bill gates who never completed college. Inventive and creative people like Edison who never went to school. The greatest religious teachers do not have letters after their name. Many of the world’s political leaders do not have master’s degrees or doctorates. There are people who shape our lives and they are too busy to spend time in the paper chase.
People are still not genuinely expected think for themselves. In fact, the longer years of schooling make the brainwashing even easier. There is still a role in for study, research, and education. However we need to examine our emphasis on education for the sake of a piece of paper, and to learn the real meaning and revolutionary challenge of knowledge.

Music

How can music calm a person who is facing stress or burdens in their life?

Music is an art that made from soul. Music reflects human feelings, is it about love, sorrow, happiness, excitement or others. Music was produced because human want to express their feeling. In the past people used music to praise their God. It is how they express their gratitude and appreciate their life.

Human have sensitive feeling. When people are stress and then hear some nice music it may calming them. Because slowly the tone of the music will be playing our emotion and slowly our current emotion is being accustomed with the rhyme of the music.

The rhyme of the music can also describe certain place or make us imagine one particular place that make us relax or happy.

For example when people hear a classical music, they will imagine some classic country like Paris. Then they imagine they are sitting on the bench beside Paris street and admiring the autumn season over there. It make them relax, happy and calm.

Somehow there is a joy when you hear music and slowly you feel like your burden on your shoulder just like being lifted up adn you can forget your problem for a while and then get new spirit and motivation to face this life with brave after hear some music.

Life become lighter when there is music.

The Television Effect

Television is one of the greatest inventions of all time. Nowadays, television is one of the most important sources of information. It plays such a significant role in people’s everyday lives that it’s almost impossible to imagine how we would live if there wasn’t any TV. However, nowadays TV has caused problems as well as good things.

The main reason why so many people choose watching TV to get information and entertainment is its simplicity and convenience. All we have to do is press a button and sit comfortably in a chair. Television also enables us to watch many events in other parts of the world live and vividly. It is also a means of transferring knowledge because many programs are designed for educational purposes.
However, TV seems captive us. Usually, we are not just watching for the content, but for the contrast, change, and captivating images. That is the danger. We may decide to catch a one-hour educational program, but find ourselves immobilized by TV’s power and end up “watching” longer than we originally planned.

Several studies indicate that watching TV may decrease one’s attention span and weaken one’s imagination. It weakens our attention span because we are continuously exposed to quick, short bursts of information. As a result, we grow impatient if it takes a while to make a point. TV also weakens our imagination because everything is portrayed for us. All we have to do is sit back and observe someone else’s imagination. Books are just the opposite. They increase our attention span and help us develop our imagination.

The effect of TV brings us to an interesting paradox. After day’s work, many people like to regrain some energy by relaxing in front of the TV. But the ever changing TV images result in information overload. This sucks the energy out of us. That’s the paradox, we watch it with the hope of regaining our energy, but get drained instead.

Beside its hypnotic effect, another major problem is the way it is used by those who own and run television stations and network. TV is used to sell products and services. It is said that living with television means growing up in a world of about 22,000 commercials a year 5,000 of them for food products, more than half of which are for low-nutrition sweets and snacks. TV, then, is the heart of the monster called consumerism.

Although this is a strong argument, overall, it seems that the benefits of television outweigh the risks. Television can make really interested in many subjects.
